About Me

Working out of my studio at The Pottery on Salt Spring Island, I make hand-built ceramics, often large scale bowls and vases.

My pots are hand built with coils, slabs and pinching. I have had the good fortune of studying ceramics around the world, most importantly with Akio Takamori at the University of Washington in Seattle which left me above all else with an appreciation for the value of personal expression and good humour in art making.

As a member of the Tozan Society on Vancouver Island, some of my pieces are fired in a traditional Japanese wood kiln.

“Working with clay is a powerful reminder of the value of personal touch”
